I recently made this sweet little stand for my jewelry and perfume in my bedroom. It was just about the quickest and easiest DIY project I've done so far! I had some scrap oak plywood hanging around from when we made our desk and coffee table and decided to use it on this. I was inspired to do this from from a photo I saw on Pinterest that was originally on Design Sponge (Insert heart eyes here!) You can put this guy just about anywhere. Multi purpose is the best.
I decided to paint the outer layer white because since the wood is ply, it won't hold or even look presentable with stain. You can get around this by using pocket holes to secure a wood layer over this, or just painting over it. I wasn't too concerned because it is just in our bedroom and I LOVE the combination of white and dark stained wood. Since I had already had the wood and the white paint, I spent about $12 in total for the shelf hinges and screws.
As far as the old frame goes, it was a yard sale find for a buck! It was already painted gold, too! I just screwed in some hooks that can be found at Home Depot for $2 and it became a necklace and watch display.
